Album Of The Day: Hot Water Music – Caution

Long before Chuck Ragan started doing his own solo folky stuff with albums like the amazing “Feast of Famine” he was part of underground legends Hot Water Music who had their own quite distinctive brand of punk rock/post hardcore. Both Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard sing for the band and throughout the bands life the vocals have kept changing, To start with Chuck did most of the singing with Chris on back up but they started to do more and more duet vocals as time went by and on later records Chris does most of the singing with Chuck on backing. The rhythm section also has some interesting jazz influences featuring heavily in the timing and rhythm on some songs.

This album has a pretty much every other song approach to who is singing which song and this creates an interesting style to the album.

Best song is “Remedy”
