Album Of The Day: Refused – The Shape Of Punk To Come

Refused - The Shape Of Punk To Come AOTD

This album has just be re-released as a special deluxe edition with 24 songs on, a load of which are live and it is definitely worth picking up if you don’t already have a copy because this album is a very important album for fans of punk and hardcore. Obviously the title says a lot but the album really does live up to it and you can hear a lot of Refused influence in fuck loads of modern punk. Managing to be a huge underground hit that also found a lot of favour in the mainstream is a hard thing to do and most will choose to be one or the other. Refused didn’t live long after this album and it’s one of those things where you think your kind of glad about it, they left us with an utter masterpiece and not a single piece of shit to sully their back catalogue.

Best song is the obviously epic “New Noise” although “Protest Song’68” has the best drums ever.

The full album can be found in all its deluxe glory on Spotify here
