Album Of The Day: RX Bandits – …And The Battle Begun

RX Bandits - ...And The Battle Begun AOTD

Rx Bandits play a mixture of punk, ska, experimental and some electro elements to produce a sound unlike most things around at the moment, I first started listening to them years ago when they seemed to play Exeter Cavern every other month and I loved the songs ‘VCG3’ and ‘Analog Boy‘ from the amazing album ‘Progress‘ (which is sadly not on Spotify 😦 )

As time has gone on the albums have got a bit more experimental and now they are in a league of their own coming a long way from the ska-punk beginnings. This is their 2006 album and carried on the new found sense of progression from the aptly titled Progress album and has a much more mature sound than any previous material.

Best song on the album is the title track, ‘And The Battle Begun’ a slow building epic.

The full album can be found here on Spotify

  1. This album is ace. Saw them the other day, but they played a shortish set and played a lot of mandela stuff.
