Album Of The Day: The Mars Volta – The Bedlam In Goliath

After Omar and Cedric started going off on a more experimental tangent after At The Drive-In they created The Mars Volta and released ‘De-Loused in the Comatorium’ that was a mix of the harsh and heavy post hardcore sound of ATDI with more jazz and even latin stylings, a lot of electronic noise was also used as well.

The Bedlam In Goliath was the fourth album they released and is probably my favourite purely because of a few songs that are just outstanding. The whole album has a bit more of a funky feeling and groove to it than previous and includes a few relatively ‘normal’ songs.

Best song on the album is easily ‘Goliath’. Amazing song!
