Album Of The Day: B*Witched – Self Titled

One of the best Irish groups to have ever existed, they completely dominated the charts in the 1998 to 2000 period with classic songs such as ‘C’est La Vie’ and ‘Blame It On The Weatherman’. Taking musical styles from classic 60’s pop all the way through to Iron Maiden and Dream Theatre, they were beloved of everyone and their riotous shows were full of the craziest pits and stage dives ever known. The 13-year-old girls often using leather jacked clad metal heads as a jumping off point to get some awesome crowd surfing.

Almost all girl fronted bands in the world owe a massive debt to B*Witched and you can see their style shine through in modern-day chart successes like Pete Doherty and Lady Gaga. Some have even said Lady Gaga’s new single is an exact rip off of a demo that didn’t make this album!

Best song is the song that will become the new Irish national anthem next year ‘C’est La Vie’
