Album Of The Day: Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Uplift Mofo Party Plan

Red Hot Chili Peppers RHCP - Uplift Mofo Party Plan

Before Red Hot Chili Peppers were one of the biggest bands in the world they were a pretty damn awesome funk/rap/rock crossover band. Before even John Frusciante was in the band they made this album with Original guitarist Hillel Slovak (who died of an overdose a year later, which led to the introduction of John Frusciante)

In my mind the first ‘proper’ RHCP album and it is definitely when they got their style and rhythm together properly, 8 of the 12 songs are classics and are still my favourite Chili Peppers songs.

Best song on the album is ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ (yes I know this video has the Frusciant/Smith line up…)
